Why Padel? The Story Behind the Padel Series

Padel has been part of my life for almost a decade.

I started playing in 2017 and quickly fell in love with this sport that combines speed, strategy, teamwork and creativity in a way I had never experienced before. Today, I play several times a week, have represented Germany at a senior world championship and became a three-time German champion with my ladies 45 team.

Yet this series is not about sporting success. It is about what happens inside the court.

The movement, the anticipation and the tension before a fast exchange. The sound of the ball hitting the glass. The split second between control and chaos.

As both an athlete and an artist, I am fascinated by energy. On the court, energy is constantly changing direction. It accelerates, pauses, collides and flows. In my paintings, I try to translate those moments into color, movement and abstract forms.

Rather than painting players or matches directly, I focus on atmosphere and emotion. Reflections in the glass, trajectories of the ball, fragments of court lines and bursts of movement become visual elements that tell a deeper story.

This series is my personal interpretation of a sport that has shaped a significant part of my life.

A visual translation of movement, connection and energy. And ultimately, that's what both Padel and abstract art are about. Creating something that makes you feel alive.
